Jonas Haertle has been working as a coordinator of local and academic networks of the Global Compact. As an academic network coordinator, he helped to launch the Principles for Responsible Management Education initiative. In his role as local network coordinator he works with country networks in Latin America and the Caribbean. Jonas has long been interested in the role of non-state actors and international regimes in global politics. He holds a MA degree in European Studies of Hamburg University, Germany. As a Fulbright scholar, he also attained a MSc degree in Global Affairs from Rutgers University, New Jersey, USA. He received a DAAD scholarship for his Master’s thesis addressing the role of international human rights in Central America. Recently, he contributed to a comparative study conducted by Freedom House on the process of democratization. Prior to his studies, Jonas worked for his civil service at Centro de Asistencia Social, a German-Mexican hospital and learning center in Mexico City. He supported the center’s outreach to its donor community in Mexico as well as Germany. Jonas will focus his research on the nexus between the Global Compact and business education. In particular, his project aims at analyzing the integration of principles of global responsibility into curricula and research of management-related academic institutions. |
